Transformed

A/N: Wednesday poem by Sarah Doughty. In my mind, it’s the story of a tough break-up. What do you guys think? 🙂

I was born in limbo,

a purgatory of

your making,

but over time,

I’ve transformed

it into paradise.

  1. Work of merit may be interpreted in many ways, as Neruda said “Better than any explanation is the experience of feelings that poetry can reveal to a nature open enough to understand it” – it’s the feelings that the work evokes, which resonate from our own experiences and can be interpreted in many different ways, according to those experiences – I think it could be break up, family or many other things. but more important than the why, for me, is the sense of sadness and empowerment that flow from it.

    1. Yes, definitely. I tend to leave things open so people can fill in the blanks on the situation, but I’m often areful about word choices. Either I insert the feeling, or I let the words gently guide people there. Sometimes it doesn’t happen, but I enjoy hearing about how pieces are interpreted. 😊
